Saucer Fascinator Hat Block – ELIZABETH

This is an elegant wide brim saucer hat block. The block has an up-turned brim on one side and a bump flaring out to the other side. The size of the hat block is 43 x 39cm (17 x 15″).

Saucer hats and wide brim fascinator hats have become very popular recently. These large, beautiful fascinators are usually worn on one side of the head at a 45 degree angle.

PRESSER

This hat block comes with a presser.

The presser is meant to be used for creating the domed centre to accommodate your head.  You can use it also as a separate piece to block a pillbox style base, you can mount the saucer hat on this base. The presser has a circular outline.

STRING GROOVE

This hat block set can be ordered with or without a string groove. A string groove is used to tie down the blocked material. Whereas in the other version of the block the material is pinned down with blocking pins.

NOTE – the dolly head is not included, the price is only for the saucer hat block and presser.

This hat block is made from lime tree. This is a local tree that is widely spread in Northern Europe. It is a soft wood with low density and thus easy to pin.
