This is a circular saucer fascinator or percher hat block that comes with a dome shaped presser. The presser is placed over the top of the hat block to form the ‘bump’. Place a weight on the top, this way it will be easier to pin the sinamay round the rest of the block. Once the fascinator has dried, use your imagination to cut the desired shape. Usually milliners prefer an asymmetrical outline where one side of the fascinator is higher than the other. See the last picture of a sample saucer fascinator that was made using this hat block.

Saucer fascinators or perchers hats have become very popular recently. These large, beautiful fascinators are usually worn on one side of the head. These fascinators have a dome shaped ‘bump’ in the middle that fits nicely against the head. These fascinators are usually mounted on a headband, smaller pieces like this one can also be worn with a plastic hair comb.

The presser is a multi-functional hat block on its own. Use it to create sinamay, felt, straw or buckram bases for your headpieces. As the dome matches the shape of the head, you can use it to make different freeform headpieces.
The base of the saucer hat block measures 24cm ( 9.5″) in diameter and stands 6.5cm (2.5″) tall. The depression in the top of the block measures 14cm ( 5.5″ ) in diameter and is around 4cm (1.6″) deep. The presser measures about 15cm ( 5.9″) in diameter and is about 6,5cm ( 2.6″) high. The presser block has a 2,4 cm (1″) hole bored in it for mounting on a work stand; it will fit on most hat block stands. The blocks have a lacquer finish to protect the wood.
This set of hat blocks is made from lime. This is a tree widely spread in Northern Europe. This is a soft material and easy to pin.

All of our hat blocks are made to order.ย Currently our production time is 3 weeks. During the busy season (December - January) the production time can be up to 4 weeks.
Once you place the order we will contact you and inform about the turnaround time.
Delivery costs for smaller size hat blocks (pillbox hat blocks) start at 15EUR - Europe, 20 EUR - USA, UK, Canada. Please understand that it is not possible for the web site to accurately calculate combined shipping costs for multiple items. We always manually re-calculate the shipping costs and issue a refund.
You can also contact us prior to purchase, we will ย manually calculate the shipping costs and inform you about the turnaround time as well as delivery methods and shipping costs.
For customers outside the EU there may be additional import charges per your government. We make every effort to minimize this process by declaring the contents of each package. If in case there are extra charges you will be notified at the point of pick up. Any import charges is the responsibility of the customer.

We ship our orders with Latvijas Pasts, e.g. Latvian national post. Most of the fascinator and pillbox hat blocks are shipped with REGULAR MAIL.
We will provide a tracking number. You can track the parcel on Track-trace.com/post or later when the parcel has reached your country also on the website of your national mail carrier (usps.com, Royalmail.com etc.)
